Zeljco Obradovic gave an interview οn the Greek radio station Sport FM 94,6 and talked about the new season, Panathinaikos head coach Sasa Djordjevic, the acquisition of Kostas Sloukas and the upcoming opening game in the Euroleague against Bayern Munich.
Here is what he said:
His opinion about this year’s Euroleague:
“It’s an exceptional championship. Many players come and go and the newcomers take their chances and prove they are capable of playing at the top level.”
What Fenerbahce‘s playing style will be:
“It will be different than the one we had last year. We have players with a different playing style. Many important players were brought in to the squad. There are athletes that came late from the Eurobasket, we also have problems, but we shouldn’t cry about that.”
His opinion about Kostas Sloukas:
“I started watching him since he was a kid, when the Greek national team claimed the trophy in Rhodes. He is a great talent and a player of the top level, who has played for a big club like Olympiacos and is more experienced now. It was an easy decision to sign him.”
His thoughts on Djordjevic:
“We were together in Partizan. He has played for me both in Partizan and the national team. He has a great understanding of his job and I am not surprised about that.”
Regarding the upcoming match against Bayern Munich:
“They have a decent team and a serious coach. He works very hard and if they create a team similar to the football one, it will be great for basketball.”
