Valencia Basket has reached an agreement to incorporate American point guard Chris Jones (1.88m, Garland (Texas), 10/04/1993, 29 years old) to its men’s team for the 2022-23 season.

The player comes from LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, with which last Saturday was proclaimed champion of the French League being the most outstanding player of his team both in the national competition (13.9 points with 41.6% in three-pointers, 2.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists for 15.4 efficency) and in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague (13.1 points with 39% in three-pointers, 3.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.5 steals for 14.7 efficency).

The player has an Armenian passport and will participate with this national team in the European Championship for small countries to be held in Malta from June 28.

The point guard Sam Van Rossom and Valencia Basket have reached an agreement for the Belgian international player (1.88 m, Ghent, 03/06/1986, 36 years old) to extend his contract with the Club for one more season, until June 30, 2023.

In this way, the Belgian playmaker will become the fourth player in the history of the Club to reach at least ten seasons defending the colors of our men’s team, along with Víctor Luengo, Rafa Martínez and Bojan Dubljevic. Since arriving at Valencia Basket in the summer of 2013, Van Rossom has been an indispensable part of the three titles he has lifted as a taronja (the 2017 Endesa League and the 2014 and 2019 EuroCup) and in the last game of last season he became the fourth player with the most official games played with Valencia Basket (435).

In addition, he is the only player who has been chosen twice by the fans to win the Trophy for Endeavour in the men’s category. Last season he played a total of 38 games with statistics of 7.5 points with a 43% success rate in three pointers, 3 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 9.1 efficency in just over 20 minutes on average.
