Panathinaikos OPAP will feature Greek guard Lefteris Bochoridis in the 2022-23 season. The two sides are set to ink a one-year contract extension.

Bochoridis, 28, launched the second stint of the Greens in 2020. The first stint stretched from 2014 and 2017. Overall as a member of Panathinaikos, he celebrated the domestic league championship in 2017 and 2021. Additional titles correspond to lifting the Greek Cup on four occasions.

The 2021-22 season was also his fifth campaign in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. He averaged 2.1 points, 1.3 assists, and 1.0 rebounds per contest coming off the bench in 12 out of his 19 appearances. The team record of 9-19 resulted in missing the playoffs for the second year in a row. Combined with the 2019-20 season abandoned due to the coronavirus pandemic, the last run extending past the Regular Season in Europe’s premier club continental competition dates back to 2019.

Making his way to 30 games of the 2021-22 Stoiximan Basket League season, Bochoridis tallied 4.8 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per contest. The Greens ranked second in the Regular Season and went on to sweep Aris and eliminate Larissa in five games before being on the receiving end of a sweep in the championship best-of-five series opposite archrival Olympiacos. Losing to Olympiacos was the case in the Greek Cup final as well.

Earlier in the offseason, Panathinaikos named Dejan Radonjic as the new head coach and made a couple of additions to the squad bringing in Paris Lee and Panagiotis Kalaitzakis.
