Former Denver Nuggets guard Markus Howard is moving overseas as he has signed a deal with Baskonia for the next two seasons, the Spanish club confirmed Sunday.

Howard, 23, spent the 2021-22 season on a two-way contract with the Nuggets and as Sports Illustrated notes, the team already has 15 players under contract for next season and didn’t have roster space to bring back any player from last season.

Howard participated in 31 contests with the Nuggets last season and averaged 4.1 points per game on 40% shooting from the three-point range. During the season, he had been assigned to the Grand Rapids Gold in the NBA G-League, where he posted averages of 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds.

The Morristown native went undrafted in the 2020 NBA draft and signed his first professional contract with the Nuggets in November 2020.
