Upon the addition of another interested party in the mix, Lithuanian center Arturas Gudaitis had two offers on the table coming from FC Bayern Munich and Panathinaikos OPAP and decided to move to Athens and join the Greens, per Eurohoops sources.

Gudaitis, 29, was already linked to the Greens, as reported by Eurohoops a couple of weeks ago. Bayern emerged as a second option to extend his career in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

A look into his EuroLeague experience, the Lithuanian center has competed in 144 games between Zenit, AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan, and Zalgiris. In addition, he made 14 appearances in the 7DAYS EuroCup playing for Rytas after departing from the Lithuania rival located in Kaunas and before joining the Milano giant.

The most recent campaign in the premier club continental competition of Europe was cut short. In the aftermath of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing war, Zenit’s participation was withdrawn. Gudaitis was averaging 6.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.7 blocks, and 0.2 steals per contest over 18 appearances, including 16 starts under Spanish tactician Xavi Pascual.

Wrapping up the 2021-22 season, he moved to GeVi Napoli last April. Helping his side in a late push to avoid relegation, he produced 7.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, and 0.4 assists per game in his brief return to Italy’s LBA Serie A.

His NBA rights currently belong to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was selected with the 47th pick of the 2015 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers and his rights were traded to the Sacramento Kings before landing in Cleveland.
