Talented big man Yoan Makoundou is added to the roster of Monaco, after shining with Cholet in the Basketball Champions League.

Per EuroLeague’s press release: “AS Monaco has secured the arrival of Yoan Makoundou on a four-year deal, the club announced on Saturday. Makoundou (2.07 meters, 21 years old) joins from Cholet Basket, where he averaged 10.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 36 French League matches last season. He is set to make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut in the 2022-23 campaign.

Makoundou has spent his entire career with Cholet, making his first-team debut in 2019 before going on to play a more prominent role in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. His statistics increased year-on-year during his time at Cholet, so Monaco will hope he can build on those performances at Salle Gaston Medecin. Makoundou also represented France at the 2019 Under-19 Basketball World Cup”
