ALBA Berlin announced that the club signed forward/center Yannick Wetzell to a three-year deal. He’s set to compete in EuroLeague for the first time in his career with the German BBL reigning champions.

Wetzell, 26, last played for Baskonia in the Spanish ACB League. The New Zealand big man averaged 3.6 points and 2.9 rebounds over 11 games at the end of the season. He was previously a member of the New Zealand Breakers, posting 17.7 points and 8.2 rebounds in 22 matches the NBL League.

“I’m very happy about my move to Berlin,” Wetzell said per ALBA. “I’ve only heard good things about the club and the city from former ALBA players. I can’t wait to come to Berlin, hit the basketball court and get to know the city’s diverse culture.”
