In Round 2 of the 2022-23 EuroLeague Regular Season, AS Monaco beat Anadolu Efes 95-92 in OT after a crazy game that saw controversy surrounding Vasilije Micic’s shot at the end of regulation. Some hours after the end of the encounter, the EuroLeague released a report. Here is the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague’s full statement on the no-call:

“Following speculation surrounding a shot taken by Vasilije Micic at the end of the fourth quarter of the AS Monaco vs. Anadolu Efes Istanbul game played on October 13, 2022, Euroleague Basketball’s findings are:

In the fourth quarter, with 6.0 seconds remaining on the game clock, Vasilije Micic of Anadolu Efes Istanbul attempted a jump shot for a three-point field goal. The shot missed and, as he returned to the floor, John Brown of AS Monaco landed on the right foot of Vasilije Micic and then Jaron Blossomgame of AS Monaco also made contact with the same right foot. This occurred before both of his feet had returned to the floor and no foul was called on the play. This is incorrect, and the referee should have called a personal foul on John Brown for a foul in the act of shooting, which should have resulted in 3 free throws being awarded to Vasilije Micic of Anadolu Efes Istanbul, with 5.5 seconds remaining on the game clock”.
