Partizan Mozzart Bet dominated from the first to the last minute in the packed Belgrade Arena and beat Virtus Segafredo Bologna by 28 points (90-62).

James Nunnally led the winning team with his best performance in a black and white jersey. He scored 20 points, Mathias Lessort and Danilo Anđušić followed with 14 points each, while Yam Madar added 11 and Kevin Punter 10 points.

“That’s what I’m supposed to do, that’s what I came here to do,” Nunnally said after the game. “I’m not satisfied, I just got to keep going. It’s the long season.”

Virtus got only two players with double figures. Ismael Bako finished the game with 11, and Kyle Weems with 10 points.

“They had 16.000 fans which had a huge importance in this game, pushing their players to play their best. For sure they played harder than us from the very beginning. There’s no question. The first quarter was decisive. Nunnally and Madar were almost unstoppable for our defense,” coach Scariolo said after the defeat.

Partizan had a 27-11 lead after the first ten minutes, and it was clear that Sergio Scariolо’s team was in trouble. The Italian team managed to answer with a couple of threes at the beginning of the second quarter, but the hosts pushed them back and went on the break with a 51-32 lead.

Nothing changed in the second half, Partizan controlled the game until the final buzzer and both teams have now a 1-3 record in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague.

“We found the way. Last two games we started very well, and we let our concentration and rhythm down and let the opponent come back. Today they had a little run in the second quarter, but we pulled ourselves together very quickly and got the dub,” Lessort said after the victory.

“We played very well, we kept concentration from the first until the last minute almost. We saw a lot of good things like in the last game against Milano, but this time with a different approach and result,” said coach Obradović after the first win in the Euroleague.
