Pablo Laso answered the call of the Basque Basketball Federation to participate in a cycle of conferences within the framework of the XI Iberian Congress and IV Ibero-American Congress held at the Europa Conference Center.

Away from coaching but always near a basketball court, and present in the recent EuroLeague game between Baskoni and Olympiacos, Laso talked about his career and also his future.

As he said per As: “The coach often feels very lonely. He is alone against the club, the agents, the parents, the press, the players, and other fronts. If you do not accept this, you are wrong. For example, Pablo Laso did not rule out Heurtel, the truth is that the player removed himself. But do you think I cut this player just for going out one night? It would be silly, Thomas is one of the five or six best players I have coached in my life, but my way of seeing basketball is that we are a team that wins and loses, all together”.

He also added, that while he is totally healthy, there’s “no hurry to get back into coaching”.

Coach Laso is obviously waiting for the right opportunity and even gave more details about what happened with Crvena Zvezda.

In the past, he had said that there wasn’t any contact with the team. As he clarified, he did get some text messages from the club president, but nothing more happened and no offer was made to his agent.

And as Laso said: “It is not a matter of saying yes to the first person who calls you”.
