Euroleague decided to reschedule the game between Armani Milan and Virtus Segafredo Bologna and move it two days back to the 9th of November to accommodate the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers schedule giving the possibility to the Italian international players to compete against Spain on the 11th of November.

The head coach of the Italian champions welcomed the news about the new date for his team’s game against Virtus.

“I think that the rescheduled game is positive news. It is the start of communication between FIBA and the Euroleague. These gestures that have been made are much more important than they may seem”, Messina said on Area 52 talk show.

With Sergio Scariolo being both Virtus and the Spanish national team’s head coach, he would otherwise have to make a difficult choice.

“It was agreed with mutual availability. We must not minimize this step. Whether this will lead somewhere, I don’t know. It would have been harmful if the EuroBasket and World Cup champions coach had to decide whether to coach the club or the national team. We hope to build something on it”, the experienced Italian coach added.
