The Spanish giants Barcelona are looking at the market for a possible replacement for injured Kyle Kuric. Their main target for strengthening the backcourt is former Obradoiro and Valencia guard Matt Thomas, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.

Kuric suffered a head injury in the match against Cazoo Baskonia on the 4th of October and is still unknown when he will be able to return to play. In addition to Kuric, Barcelona has Sergi Martinez out of the team. The Spanish player underwent surgery on the 13th of October and will be out until at least mid-February.

For those reasons Barca is interested in acquiring Thomas, who proved himself as a great shooter playing in Europe. He won the Eurocup with Valencia while scoring 10,9 points per game in the international competition.

The US guard player left Spain three years ago and signed for Toronto Raptors in the NBA. He also played for the Utah Jazz and Chicago Bulls for a total of 126 games in the regular season but with limited playing time, averaging four points per game, with 40% shooting from beyond the arc. Thomas is currently a free agent after leaving the Bulls at the end of last season.
