The new multipurpose pavilion in Valencia, whose inauguration is scheduled for 2024, will be called ‘Roig Arena’ and not Casal España Arena.

Licampa 1617, the Juan Roig company in charge of the project, has communicated the new name, explaining the change: “The new naming responds to the need to establish a clear, simple, identifiable name that recognizes the legacy of Juan Roig and his family”.

The cost of construction has increased to 280 million euros, fully covered by the personal assets of Juan Roig.

Among the various events that the Roig Arena will host are the Valencia Basket matches, owned by Juan Roig, and could hold up to 15,600 fans in its stands.

Of course, this kind of arena makes Valencia an automatic candidate to host a EuroLeague Final Four in the near future.
