It did not take long for Dusko Ivanovic to stir things up in Crvena Zvezda and the basketball community as a whole.  Before his debut against ASVEL, the experienced coach addressed the rumor that his second practice with the Serbian team lasted five hours.

It’s not true, we practiced for six and a half hours“, Ivanovic jokingly said. “The boys have the willingness to work, and as I’ve seen before, they are tough. What I noticed is that they need patience and faith. I haven’t tried to change much, it wouldn’t be effective. We need to change some details offensively and defensively“.

After a EuroHoops post on Twitter about this, players’ comments started to show up.

First in line was Wade Baldwin from Maccabi. The American point guard knows Dusko’s methods from Baskonia.

U forgot the 40/50 minutes video session“, Simone Fontecchio added to his comment.

Monaco star Mike James also added his “two cents” on IG.

I would have walked out at 19:30“.

Nik Stauskas left no doubt about how much he despised playing for the Montenegrin coach. “Played for him at Baskonia and legit felt like I was in a military camp every day. Took all the fun out of basketball for me. His ideology is backward in the way that if you lose, he sees it being because you didn’t work hard enough and therefore you get punished by running the next day. He’s the sole reason that I refuse to ever play in Europe again”, he said.

James Gist defended his former Panathinaikos head coach: “Dusko ain’t for everybody… he gon get the weak ones out.. then he will go with his strongest players”.
