Zvezda asked CAS to suspend their sanction until there’s a final decision on the case and register Facundo Campazzo, but the demand was denied

The first attempt of Crvena Zvezda to lift the EuroLeague sanction at least temporarily in CAS and register Facundo Campazzo failed. Per Eurohoops sources, Zvezda asked for temporary provisional measures until a final verdict, which would permit the player to compete in the EuroLeague.

However, CAS decided that this kind of measures can’t be applicable in the case and now Crvena Zvezda has until the 23rd of January to proceed with a formal appeal and challenge the decision of the EuroLeague Financial Panel.

It had to be noted that the initial decision of CAS and the dismissal of provisional measures is not a good omen for the final fate of any appeal coming from Zvezda since practically it’s one more approval for the basis of the sanctions imposed on Crvena Zvezda.

Campazzo, 31, remains ineligible to compete at the continental level and has instead been limited to the regional AdmiralBet ABA League, since joining the Serbian club. The sanctions currently imposed on Zvezda will expire on the last day of February, making Campazzo available for EuroLeague games from March 1st.
