In Round 23 of the 2022-23 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Milan won against Crvena Zvezda to get back-to-back victories after beating Baskonia, still at home.

The red-and-white Italian side won 74-68, but in the post-game press conference, Ettore Messina took responsibility for the lack of intensity and energy of his team in the second half, which almost led to the Serbian guests tying things up lately.

“In the second half, in the last quarter, we were tired, and I think it’s my responsibility. It’s my fault because I decided to cut the rotation, especially because I thought we needed three ball-handlers against their aggressive defense, so it was a result of this”, he said blaming himself.

“I probably had a tired team in the last 5-6 minutes. It was my mistake and I will try to get back to using better our resources”, he added. Both Nazareth Mitrou-Long and Luigi Datome didn’t play any minutes, while Giampaolo Ricci spent only 01:27 minutes on the court.
