During the EuroLeague Round 25, Fenerbahce visited Partizan in Belgrade, where Marko Guduric stopped afterward to join the Serbian national team. Against the home side, however, the former Crvena Zvezda player stepped up big, being named the MVP of the Round for the first time in his career.

Facing his former team’s rivals, he had 25 points, 2 rebounds, and 7 assists (career-high), shooting 3/5 inside the area, 4/5 from beyond the arc, and 7/7 at the charity stripe, all for a career-high 35 of PIR.

“It feels great. This is our first official game after a long time and I didn’t know what to expect because we didn’t have games and we were trying to stay in shape. But I have to say we did a great job. Offensively we shared the ball and were focused, and it feels good in my homeland to get a win against a very hot team, a team that is playing great this year especially lately with these great fans. It’s a really important win for us”, he added following the game.

After this amazing performance, the Serbian guard also shared his support for Turkey. “For a week nobody talked about basketball. As we all know a lot of people died…it was not easy to see them suffer, but life has to continue I guess. So I just pray for everybody out there”, Guduric said.

This is the fourth time a Fenerbahce player gets awarded the EuroLeague MVP of the Round after Johnathan Motley (Rounds 7 and 19) and Nigel Hayes-Davis (Round 23). The blue-and-yellow Turkish powerhouse is now fourth in the standings with a 15-9 record.

Marko Guduric, who returned to Fenerbahce in December 2020 after an NBA stint with the Memphis Grizzlies, is averaging 12.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game, shooting 60.7% from two.
