Packing a healthy roster does not last long for Fenerbahce Beko with Dyshawn Pierre entering the injury list

Picking up an injury in his left leg, Dyshawn Pierre is set to miss the next three to four weeks.

Fenerbahce Beko provided an official update on the Canadian forward Sunday. He was hurt in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 28 game versus FC Barcelona and forced to an early exit last Friday.

Averaging 6.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.3 steals, and 0.2 blocks per contest describe the solid contribution from Pierre over 22 appearances, including 15 starts under head coach Dimitris Itoudis this season. At the domestic level, the former Dayton standout has 9.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per contest. The 2022-23 season is his third campaign in both the premier club continental competition of Europe and Turkey’s BSL.

Fenerbahce’s brief run with a full roster

In the two weeks since Nemanja Bjelica was finally cleared from a calf injury, Itoudis managed a fully healthy squad for the first time as the head coach of the Istanbul outfit. However, the enjoyable stretch was cut short.

The initial timetable projects Pierre to miss a large chunk of the rest of EuroLeague’s Regular Season, potentially all seven remaining fixtures depending on recovery, but barring another setback will be ready for the Playoffs if that is indeed the case for his side. In the middle of a crazy race stretching late in the double-legged round-robin schedule, Fener carrying a 17-10 record is half a game behind the top four and home-court advantage and only 2.5 games safe in actually clinching a berth to the next round.

Three games coming up next week, including visiting La Fonteta in EuroLeague action. After visiting Pinar Karsiyaka Monday, the team will travel to Spain and face Valencia Thursday, and then return to Istanbul and play host to Besiktas Icrypex in Ulker Sports Arena Sunday.
