Shaquielle McKissic, a core member of the Olympiacos roster, will stay for two more seasons with the club, as it was officially announced.

Per the press release: Olympiacos announces the extension of its partnership with Shaquille McKissick until the summer of 2025.

The American guard/forward, who joined our team in February 2020, met today (11/04) with the Presidents, Mr. George and Panagiotis Angelopoulos, and signed his new contract.

The 32-year-old shooting guard has recently said to Eurohoops that he wants to end his career with the jersey of Olympiacos.

As he stated: “It’s a long shot to retire as an Olympiakos player, but that’s the plan. I feel like every night I give it my all, but at the same time, I have to feel comfortable with this whole contract situation”.

A special connection

Despite being a mid-season addition just before COVID forced the EuroLeague to shut down the entire 2019-20 season, McKissic instantly became a fan favorite. On February 7, 2021, he signed a two-year extension with the club.

After playing in Italy for Pesaro, in Spain for Gran Canaria, in Russia for Saratov, and in Turkey for Usak, Gaziantep, and Besiktas, Olympiacos proved for him to be finally the right match, having already won last season’s championship and two Greek cups.

He is averaging 8.7 ppg and 1.9 assists bringing energy and hustle to the team. Plus, he is steadily one of the best players of coach Bartzokas’s team in the games against eternal rival Panathinaikos.

Olympiacos has already initiated extension talks with all his core players, including Kostas Sloukas and Kostas Papanikolaou whose contracts expire this summer, plus Giannoulis Larentzakis and Thomas Walkup.
