In the latest episode of the “A day in life” series by ELPA, which already featured AS Monaco’s Donatas Motiejunas and Partizan Belgrade’s Mathias Lessort, the protagonist is Darrun Hilliard, who moved from Bayern Munich to Maccabi Tel Aviv in the summer of 2022.

The former CSKA Moscow shooting guard talked about what happens in his life once he pauses his basketball moments during the week. “You can have a bad practice or a bad game, but once you walk through the door, you got to go into dad and husband mode. Be there and be present, not just physically but mentally and emotionally. I just try to keep my kids active and outside. My wife has been right there by my side, being my number one fan”, he said about his life as dad and husband.

Then, Darrun Hilliard went on to talk about how he is experiencing the city of Tel Aviv on his first season with Maccabi. “The weather is amazing. Almost too hot sometimes. But is was not that big of adjustment, I thought it was smooth. I can see why a lot of guys would like to play here in Israel. It’s a very cool vibe. It’s good for the family and the domestic league doesn’t go too long either, as I’ll be home early June. That plays a big part”, the Villanova Wildcats product added.

The shooting guard, who recently turned 30, has been dealing with some injuries during the EuroLeague Regular Season which forced him to miss some games. He has been averaging 5.0 points in just 12:31 minutes of playing time per game, but still shooting 43.4% from the arc and 95% at the line.
