Ending the EuroLeague Regular Season as the 8th seed following the loss against Crvena Zvezda, Fenerbahce will now have to face Olympiacos, which finished on top of the standings, in the Playoffs.
Before the clash between the two powerhouses, Dimitris Itoudis shared some remarkable words about their opponents, coached by Georgios Bartzokas. “As an organization, we are proud to be in the playoffs again. That was one of our goals at the start of the season. We will be playing against the best and most consistent team in the EuroLeague right now. They play good basketball, they are organized, and they have a very good coaching team and players”, the Greek head coach stated.
Fenerbahce won’t have Nemanja Bjelica, Devin Booker, and Samet Geyik for the first two games of the series, while it will be a game-time decision for Scottie Wilbekin, Marko Guduric, and Metecan Birsen. “We have many injuries, so our task is difficult. Unfortunately, this is the case, but we are very determined. We will move forward by learning lessons from the next two-game series. We want to go there and fight”, Dimitris Itoudis added.
