KAUNAS, Lithuania – In the first semifinal of the 2023 EuroLeague Final Four, AS Monaco blew up a pretty solid lead against Olympiacos, eventually losing 76-62 against Sasa Obradovic‘s team.

In his first-ever Final Four appearance, Jordan Loyd had 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists, but shot only 1/6 from beyond the arc against the red-and-white Greek team.

“They did special in the second half, we sat on multiple times, giving them easy shots, backdoor cuts, and letting them get the rhythm. We didn’t tactically lock-in in the third quarter, and that killed us for the rest of the game”, the former Valencia shooting guard said in the mixed zone.

AS Monaco will now face the loser of the matchup between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid to take the bronze medal in their first-ever 2023 EuroLeague Final Four. Olympiacos, instead, play in the first EuroLeague Final since the 2016-17 season, when they beat Fenerbahce.
