KAUNAS, Lithuania – The loss against Olympiacos in the EuroLeague semifinals was painful, but Monaco found the strength to grab a win in a third-place battle against Barcelona, and a convincing one.
As a debutant in the EuroLeague Final Four, Monaco can be satisfied with achieved this year and look at it as a motive for the future, especially the players like Jaron Blossomgame, who was one bad quarter away from the final in his rookie season.
“It was a great way to cap off an amazing season for us. The second year in the EuroLeague, we’ve done great things this year. But we’re looking forward to next year as well. That’s kinda the standard now, it’s a big achievement for our team to come here. Mike [James] was the only one with Final Four experience. It makes us more hungry for next year“, Blossomgame said to Eurohoops.
After years between NBA and G League, the 29-year-old forward came to Europe in 2020 and signed for Ironi Nahariya. A year later, he transferred to Ratiopharm Ulm and blossomed. His athletic abilities and good performances in EuroCup and German BBL got noticed by Monaco, building a team with high ambitions in the top continental competition.
Blossomgame played 38 games in the EuroLeague in his first season, averaging 5,1 points and 2,7 rebounds, and after the last match, he expressed his gratitude.
“It’s been incredible. It’s been a learning experience, I learned so much from my teammates and from my coach. I learned a lot about myself. It’s been great, I couldn’t get a better group of guys to play with for my first year. Forever be grateful for that, and that was a great way to cap off an amazing season for us“, Jaron Blossomgame concluded.
