Moments after winning the 2023 EuroLeague against Olympiacos, Real Madrid‘s superstar Mario Hezonja hugged Guerschon Yabusele and told him “You changed the f****n season for us, bro. You know what I’m saying”, as can be seen in the video shared by Sport5.
“It’s because of you”, the Croatian small forward went on saying to the French power forward, who couldn’t play in Kaunas for the Final Four after being sanctioned with a five-game ban following the events that occurred in Game 2 of the EuroLeague Playoffs series against Partizan Belgrade.
Recalling those accidents, Partizan Belgrade’s captain Kevin Punter also shared his opinion on the matter once Real Madrid won the EuroLeague against Olympiacos. “I definitely thought about the series against Real Madrid and everything that happened. It really hurt, and for me, it was all personal: everyone knows why. I thought about everything for days, I couldn’t get it out of my head. Now it’s all over and that’s it. Let’s move on“, he said.
Mario Hezonja, in his first season with Real Madrid after leaving UNICS Kazan, won his first-ever EuroLeague, contributing with 12 points in the final against the Greek team for Chus Mateo’s team.
