After winning the EuroLeague in the madness of Kaunas, surrounded by thousands of Olympiacos fans, Real Madrid came back to the Spanish capital to start the celebration for the 11th European trophy to be inserted in their cabinet.
The whole team has been welcomed in the City Hall and in the Community of Madrid, with its protagonists speaking to the fans. “We felt the energy that all of you transmitted to us all the way from Madrid. We were there but it felt like you were close to us, supporting our moment. Sergio’s shot was the result of all your positive energy”, the EuroLeague Final Four MVP Walter Tavares said.
Chus Mateo also spoke during the Blancos’ party. “We are still assimilating but those were very good moments to enjoy. All was very emotional, to be honest. Our fans have been always very close to us. I still have 450 messages on Whatsapp without replying, and I’m doing it personally”, the 54-year-old said after winning his first-ever EuroLeague as a head coach.
A lot of other crucial players in Real Madrid‘s Lithuanian success like the winning-shot maker Sergio Llull, the veteran Sergio Rodriguez, Dzanan Musa, and Adam Hanga also expressed their joy talking to the fans and inside the Community of Madrid.
