A veteran of 29 games in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Dogus Ozdemiroglu surfaced as a new signing for the two-time champion of Europe’s premier club continental competition, Anadolu Efes.

The team based in Istanbul has been planning for the 2023-24 season, despite actively pursuing the domestic league championship and head coach Ergin Ataman on his way to Panathinaikos.

Ozdemiroglu, 27, is the latest revealed step and is attached to strengthening the domestic portion of the roster. Reaching an agreement with Efes was reported by Yagız Sabuncuoglu of Sports Digitale.

The experienced floor general and brilliant defender is a youth product of Darussafaka. Following multiple loan assignments, he established himself as a first-team regular starting in 2017 and was later named captain. The current contract with Dacka runs through the 2023-24 campaign.

Coming off his third Basketball Champions League season, his efforts translated into 12.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 2.3 steals, and 0.5 blocks per contest over 12 appearances with Darussafaka Lassa. His total of games played in the Champions League was upped to 32. Previous experience in European club continental competitions generated 29 appearances in the 7DAYS EuroCup plus 29 more in EuroLeague.

Apart from Dacka, Ozdemiroglu represented Turkey at the international level between both junior and senior levels. He was capped in the 2020 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Victoria, Canada. In addition, he made his way to nine games in the Qualifiers of both the 2023 FIBA World Cup and 2022 EuroBasket.
