After clinching the domestic title, Olimpia Milano wasted no time in preparing for the upcoming season. Their first priority was securing the services of Shavon Shields, and a deal has been reached to keep him in the team, as Eurohoops reported. Additionally, the club announced the signing of promising talent Guglielmo Caruso.

General Manager Christos Stavropoulos confirmed the agreements, stating, “We have reached a three-year agreement with Shields, and signed Guglielmo Caruso.

Shields, who also expressed his excitement, stated, “The renewal means a lot. The club and everybody have always believed in me. Wearing this jersey is an honor.”

Shields, an American-Danish swingman, joined Olimpia Milano in 2020 after a two-year stint with Baskonia. The 29-year-old began his professional career with the Frankfurt Skyliners and played for Trento in Italy during the 2017-2018 season. He has showcased his offensive skills at the highest level and was twice selected to the All-EuroLeague Second Team in 2021 and 2022.

Although injuries limited his role in the EuroLeague this season, Shields demonstrated his value in the Italian finals against Virtus Bologna, averaging 16.2 points over a seven-game series.

In addition to Shields, Olimpia Milano has secured the services of Guglielmo Caruso. The 23-year-old talented power forward joins from Varese, where he spent the last two seasons. During the previous season, Caruso averaged 9.2 points and 3.8 rebounds.

Prior to his time with Varese, Caruso played for GeVi Napoli during the 2017-18 season and had a three-year stint with the Santa Clara Broncos in the NCAA. He has also made his debut for the Italian senior national team, playing two games during the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers and averaging 9.5 points and four rebounds.
