As officially announced by Real Madrid, Petr Cornelie has ended his relationship with the Spanish team after winning the Spanish Supercup and the 2022-23 EuroLeague. Real Madrid wants to thank the player for his work and the dedication that he has shown during the season in which he has worn our shirt. Real Madrid wishes him and his family all the best in this new stage”, the press release said.

The 28-year-old French forward had 5.8 points and 3.1 rebounds while shooting 71.4% from two, 39.5% from deep, and 83.3% at the charity stripe per game in the 2022-23 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, winning it despite being out of the rotation at 2023 Final Four. In the ACB, he had 4.4 points and 3.0 boards per game.

Before moving back to Europe in 2022, Petr Cornelie debuted in France with Le Mans, playing there from 2013 to 2019 while being on loan in the 2017-18 season with Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans 92. In 2019, he moved to Pau-Lacq-Orthez and then got his way to the NBA with the Denver Nuggets two years later.
