After a recent meeting, Kostas Sloukas and Olympiacos have decided to part ways, bringing an end to their association. Sloukas had spent three years with the team during his second stint in Piraeus, after the first one from 2008 to 2015, with one season on loan at Aris Thessaloniki.

Kostas Sloukas, we warmly thank you for everything you have contributed to Olympiacos BC over the past three years and for your significant role in winning five titles and securing qualification to two consecutive Final Fours. We wish you all the best in your future career,” stated the club in an official statement.

In the 2022-23 season, the Greek international averaged 11.0 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game in 36 appearances starting from the bench, helping his team reach the Final Four in Kaunas. However, Olympiacos couldn’t make it to the Final against Real Madrid.

Olympiacos decided to cut the cord and not try to negotiate anymore. Fenerbahce and Partizan are the main suitors of Sloukas as of now, with the Istanbul club already presenting their offer to return the experienced point guard which per Eurohoops sources, is a two-year contract. Sloukas spent five years with the Turkish club, winning Euroleague in 2017.

So all those things make Fenerbahce defacto the main candidate to sign Sloukas, having a two-year deal on the table and a strong chance to get him back.

During his nine years as an Olympiacos player, Kostas Sloukas won three Euroleague titles, four domestic championships, and three Greek Cups.
