The veteran of 214 NBA games, Frank Jackson moves his talents overseas.

Jackson, 25, signed a one-year contract to join LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, the team announced Friday.

Spending most of the 2022-23 campaign with the Salt Lake City Stars in the G League, he tallied 23.2 points per game over 23 appearances. Adding one NBA appearance with the Utah Jazz after inking a ten-day contract in February logged his 214th game in the league.

Coming out of Duke in 2017, Jackson was selected by the Charlotte Hornets as the 31st overall pick in the NBA draft. Traded to the New Orleans Pelicans, he went on to 120 NBA games over the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons. In 2020-21 and 2021-22, he threw in 93 more appearances as a member of the Detroit Pistons, enjoying a career-high 10.6 points per contest at the bottom half of the spell in Motor City.

Finally taking on the challenge of establishing his scoring talent in the Old Continent, the 2023-24 campaign will be combined between the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and domestic competitions headlined by France’s Betclic Elite LNB Pro A. Last season, ASVEL finished last in EuroLeague with an 8-26 record and was eliminated in the Semifinals of the domestic league’s Playoffs, but won the Leaders Cup in February.

Looking to replace departing players, the team coached by T.J. Parker, brother of the president and retired player Tony Parker, already secured the services of John Egbunu and Boris Dallo for the next season and tied Mbaye Ndiaye to a three-year contract.
