After missing part of the beginning of the 2022-23 EuroLeague season with Virtus Bologna following a 16-month stop due to consecutive knee injuries, Awudu Abass will now stay one more season with Sergio Scariolo’s team, extending his contract until 2024.

The 30-year-old Italian small forward, one of the best on-the-ball defenders in Europe in his position, averaged 6.7 points and 1.0 rebounds in the EuroLeague, shooting 57.1% from two and 58.8% from beyond the arc.

Before moving to Bologna in 2020, winning one Italian championship, the 2022 EuroCup, and two Italian SuperCups, Awudu Abass wore the jerseys of Pallacanestro Cantù for six seasons, Olimpia Milan until 2018, and Germani Brescia for other two years, being one of the best players in LBA.
