After officially parting ways with ratiopharm Ulm, the Brazilian duo of Bruno Caboclo and Yago Dos Santos which led the orange team to the top of Germany is now split. The former went to Reyer Venice, while the latter has been announced as the new player of Crvena Zvezda, signing a three-year contract.

The 24-year-old playmaker, who debuted in the 2022-23 EuroCup with 13.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game with ratiopharm Ulm, led the German team to its first-ever domestic league victory, averaging 14.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game in the BBL.

Earlier in the day, ratiopharm Ulm announced the departure of the Brazilian point guard. “We are very happy for Yago, that he was able to assert himself in his first season in Europe and we are excited to see how he will do in the Euroleague. It was to be expected that it would be difficult to keep the Finals MVP. Yago enchanted us with his way of playing. We would have liked to have enjoyed his refreshing style of play longer, but at the same time we keep our fingers crossed for his new challenge”, Sports Director Thorsten Leibenath commented.

The 2023 BBL Finals MVP is the latest of several arrivals to the red-and-white side after Dejan Davidovac, Milos Teodosic, Adam Hanga, Marko Simonovic, Rokas Giedraitis, Joel Bolomboy, Mike Tobey, and Shabazz Napier.
