The Lithuanian center is close to a return with the Monegasque team

Despite being in talks with Panathinaikos according to Eurohoops sources, Donatas Motiejunas has confirmed to Basket News that he’s close to signing once more with AS Monaco, where he has spent the last two EuroLeague seasons.

“My contract negotiations haven’t concluded yet, but I believe everything will be finalized in the next few days. I’m truly grateful that the club acknowledges the significance of representing the national team not only for the people and the entire country but also for me personally. It holds a special place in my heart to be here”, the former Houston Rockets center said to the Lithuanian outlet.

The 32-year-old center is leaning toward another season with AS Monaco, where he won the 2023 LNB. “I can’t say it’s definite right now, as the signatures haven’t been set, but all indications point towards a “yes” It seems likely, but we’ll have a clearer picture once all the signatures are in place”, he added.

In the 2022-23 EuroLeague season, helping Sasa Obradovic‘s team reach the 2023 Final Four in his native country, at the Zalgirio Arena, Donatas Motiejunas averaged 8.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
