Crvena Zvezda announced that the club signed 17-year-old guard Nikola Topic to his first professional contract. It’s a four-year deal for Topic who first joined Red Star‘s youth teams in 2020 and has been with the organization ever since.
Topic, the son of former Zvezda player and assistant coach Milenko Topic, appeared in two EuroLeague games last season and played in seven ABA League matches as well. He had a superb run in EuroLeague’s Adidas Next Generation Tournament sessions with 28.4 points, 6.9 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals over seven games.
Zvezda has overall been very active in the 2023 market, having signed guards Milos Teodosic, Shabazz Napier and Yago Dos Santos, forwards Rokas Giedraitis and Dejan Davidovac, wing Adam Hanga, big men Marko Simonovic, Joel Bolomboy and Mike Tobey.
