Pallacanestro Olimpia Milano announces that it has reached an agreement until 2025 with Ismael Kamagate, center of 2.11, born on January 17, 2001, in Paris, France, coming from Paris Basketball of the French League and Eurocup.

We wanted Kamagate because he is a young, modern player with precise characteristics such as the ability to play above the rim both in attack and defense. After an excellent season in the Eurocup, we believe it can also help a EuroLeague team like ours,” says general manager Christos Stavropoulos. “I am happy to join a historic club like Olimpia Milano. I can’t wait to get to work helping the team keep winning, as they have in recent seasons, and getting to know my new fans,” says Kamagate.

Born in Paris to a family of Ivorian origins, Ismael Kamagate began playing basketball at the age of 12 in a small club in Paris, then moved to Paris-Levallois and finally to Orleans where he made his professional debut. In 2019, he moved to Paris Basketball where he played in the last four seasons, the first two in Pro B.

In 2021 he won the second French championship averaging 8.9 points and 7.1 rebounds. In 2021/22 he made his debut in the top transalpine tournament and finished the season with 11.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game being named defender of the year. Last season, going from 27.0 to 22.1 minutes per game, he averaged 9.9ppg and grabbed 7.5rpg per game. He also shot 75.3% from the field. For the second year in a row he made the All-Star Game. In 2022/23 he also made his debut in the Eurocup where in 20 games he scored 9.2 points per game with 8.4 rebounds (fourth overall), 17.2 evaluation (11th), 1.5 average blocks (first overall). He was also second in two-point shooting with 76.3% (he also had 80.4% in free throws).
