Towering center Christ Koumadje will be sticking around for ALBA Berlin.

Koumadje, 27, signed a three-year contract extension, the team announced Wednesday.

“In two and a half memorable seasons with ALBA, I have learned to appreciate the philosophy of the club and sincerity along with the traditionally good team chemistry,” he commented on running it back with the Berlin outfit, per the official press release, “I am already looking forward to the upcoming season and seeing our fans again in Mercedes-Benz Arena.”

Since joining the German club late in the 2020-21 season, Koumadje logged 56 appearances in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, including 31 in the 2022-23 edition of the club continental competition. He put up 6.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, 0.3 steals, and 0.2 assists per game. His side finished 16th, at the bottom end of a tie with domestic rival FC Bayern Munich as both sides wrapped up the campaign with an 11-23 record.

Planning for the next season in EuroLeague and domestic competitions, Justin Bean, Malte Delow, Jonas Mattisseck, Gabriele Procida, Elias Rapieque, Tim Schneider, Ziga Samar, Johannes Thiemann, and Yanni Wetzell were already placed on the roster for the team coached by Israel Gonzalez.

Coming out of Florida State in 2019, Koumadje started his professional career in the G League playing for the Delaware Blue Coats through the 2019-20 season. Moving on to the 2020-21 season, he made his way to Movistar Estudiantes and Avtodor, before joining ALBA in February.
