After signing Justin Bean and Matt Thomas, ALBA Berlin signed talented Italian guard Matteo Spagnolo on a three-year deal, as previously reported by Eurohoops.

Currently in preparation with the Italian National Team for the upcoming 2023 FIBA World Cup, the 20-year-old guard played for Trento last season, achieving an average of 11.8 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.6 rebounds in the EuroCup.

Spagnolo originally signed a three-year deal with Real Madrid in 2021 and spent the past two seasons on loan at Cremona and Trento.

In the summer of 2022, he was selected as the 50th overall pick in the NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The talented guard won a bronze medal at the 2019 FIBA U16 European Championship with Italy and made his debut for the senior team in February 2020, becoming the third-youngest player to represent Italy at the senior level.
