A rough outing for Anadolu Efes against CSKA in the 16th annual TUBAD Tournament.

The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague participant facing a double-digit deficit most of the way lost, 88-60, in Antalya’s Nirvana Cosmos Sports Center Friday.

Elijah Bryant produced 17 points and Ante Zizic followed with 16 points. Erkan Yilmaz combined three points with a game-high six assists. The team coached by Erdem Can will resume friendly action opposite Pinar Karsiyaka Sunday.

The Moscow outfit recently moved preparations for the 2023-24 edition of the VTB United League to Turkiye. After a comfortable win over Turk Telekom and a narrow loss to Besiktas Emlakjet, bouncing back was highlighted by Casper Ware scoring 18 points to go with five assists and two steals.

Basque Cup suspended due to a slippery court

With just over four minutes left in the second quarter, Baskonia and Surne Bilbao agreed to stop the regional preseason Euskal Kopa, better known as Basque Cup.

The hazardous conditions on the slippery court at Polideportivo Urreta forced the interruption since players struggled to avoid falling to the floor. Opting to avoid further risk of injuries, both teams thanked the fans in attendance and exited. Baskonia was leading 33-29.

However, stopping action in Galdakao was actually the second setback. The tipoff was delayed one hour due to the EuroLeague outfit’s bus being stuck in traffic for approximately 90 minutes. An accident on the road prevented arriving to the venue on schedule.
