Panathinaikos beat Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, 89-77, after jumping to an early 10-point lead and retaining a double-digit separation most of the way at the conclusion of the Nick Galis International Tournament on Sunday.

French center Mathias Lessort set the game-high at 22 points. Ioannis Papapetrou and Konstantinos Mitoglou threw in 12 and 11 points, respectively. Luca Vildoza did not make the trip to Rhodes due to a minor injury.

On the opposite side, Lorenzo Brown recorded a team-high 14 points. Jasiel Rivero followed with 13 points.

Similar to the second day of the friendly tournament, Nikos Galis was on hand to honor numerous players during halftime. Former rival Doron Jamchi was present as well.

Bouncing back yesterday’s loss to Fenerbahce Beko, the Greens forced a three-way tie at 1-1 between all three participants. However, Fener ended up with the best point differential to rank on top.

Anadolu Efes is heading to Athens

Earlier, Anadolu Efes wrapped up preparation games in Turkiye banking in an 83-77 victory against Pinar Karsiyaka.

Sharing the team-high in scoring, Elijah Bryant, Ante Zizic, and Erkan Yilmaz tallied 14 points each. On the losing end, Vitto Brown logged a game-high 18 points.

Closing the preseason, the team coached by Erdem Can will participate in the 5th Pavlos Giannakopoulos Tournament to be held next week in Athens. Host Panathinaikos along with FC Bayern Munich and Partizan Mozzart Bet shape the rest of the field of the friendly tournament.
