Returning for the 5th edition, the “Pavlos Giannakopoulos” Tournament opened with Anadolu Efes beating Partizan Belgrade 81-79 in a game played on a rollercoaster of emotions.

Coming back from a 13-point deficit, in fact, the newest team coached by Erdem Can beat Zeljko Obradovic‘s side, and the two head coaches met each other for the first time since Fenerbahce days in OAKA, home of the Serbian legend back in the past.

In what looked more like a collective effort on offense, Will Clyburn went close to a double-double for Efes, dropping 16 points and 8 rebounds. Danilo Andjusic led the black-and-white team with 23 points and 5/8 from three-point range, followed by Kevin Punter’s 17 points.
