In the first game at their home gym and also in the 5th tournament that bares the name of their late emblematic president “Pavlos Giannakopoulos”, the new-look Panathinaikos of coach Ergin Ataman got the 80-73 win over Bayern Munich.

Kyle Guy and Mathias Lessort with 13 points each, plus Jerian Grant with 11 points and six assists were the key players of the Greens who didn’t have Luca Vildoza and Kostas Antetokounmpo available for the game.

On the other side, Carsen Edwards who left Fenerbahce for Bayern, scored 22 points and World Champion with the German national team, Isaac Bonga added 12 points.

Bayern is also missing its latest addition, as Serge Ibaka didn’t travel to Athens after signing with the team just 48 hours before the trip to Greece.
