Getting back on track and finding pleasure in competing in Europe are personal goals for Kemba Walker. However, fully recovering from injuries seems unrealistic.

Walker, 33, made his debut in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague on Wednesday. He had two points, two rebounds, and one assist over ten minutes. His side, AS Monaco, bounced back from a 0-2 start with a win against Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet in Stark Arena.

“It was great. Amazing crowd, something really special. I am very happy that I was a player of a game in such an environment,” he told Serbian outlet Meridian sport focusing on the crowd in Belgrade.

Crvena Zvezda fans are among the most electric in Europe, but plenty more similar atmospheres will follow moving deeper in the schedule of the 2023-24 campaign.

“We won,” added the 33-year-old point guard, “That is the only important thing and I am glad to have been a part of it.”

A nagging knee issue prevented him from helping the La Roca team earlier in the continental campaign. At the domestic level, he remains unregistered, as recently revealed by head coach Sasa Obradovic.

“I feel good. I just need to warm up and get into a rhythm. Other than that, being out there was great. I will probably never be at 100% again, but I am fine,” he confessed.

Monaco returns to action tomorrow, Friday. In Round 4 of the EuroLeague Regular Season, ALBA Berlin will visit Salle Gaston Medecin.
