After coaching for three years in the LNB – two with Paris in 2004-06 and one in Pau-Orthez in 2006-07 -, Gordon Herbert could eventually return to France, as he reportedly attracted interest from ASVEL, according to Donatas Urbonas from BasketNews.

However, after it was reported that the German basketball federation – with which he has a contract until 2025 – isn’t willing to let its head coach agree with a EuroLeague team while being under contract with the national team, the Canadian-Finnish 64-year-old assured German fans by talking to BILD. “Nobody has to worry, I wouldn’t leave the national team”, he said.

Leading the German national team, Gordon Herbert won the 2023 FIBA World Cup unbeaten after getting over Serbia in the final played at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines. On the other side, TJ Parker’s bench on the black-and-white side is at risk after entering this year’s EuroLeague Regular Season winless at 0-4.
