Barcelona and Real Madrid will meet for the third time this season, but Roger Grimau won’t be able to count on one of his key players for the Round 5 EuroLeague clash, with Nicolas Laprovittola being out.
The Argentinean felt discomfort in the left adductor, and won’t be in the squad at WiZink Center. According to the club’s statement, his progress will determine his availability for the next matches.
Barcelona lost to Real Madrid in the first two clashes in the Spanish Supercup and ACB League, with both sides being perfect in the first four rounds of the EuroLeague.
Laprovittola averaged 13.8 points and 6.8 assists in EuroLeague wins over Anadolu Efes, Olympiacos, Partizan, and Bayern Munich, so it’s easy to conclude that his absence will be a big blow for Grimau’s side.
The former Real Madrid player also recorded 11.5 points with three assists in six ACB League appearances, in his third season with the Catalan team.
