Laboral Kutxa decimated Cedevita 92-70, being unstoppable in the second and fourth quarter, and will now finish second or third in group B. This was the sixth win for the hosts (6-4), whereas the visitors, who claimed the fourth place, suffered their sixth loss (4-6).
For the winners, Fabien Causeur was tremendous, with 20 points, six assists, three rebounds and 31 points in the ranking system, with Giannis Bourousis adding an impressive double-double (17 points, 10 rebounds). On the other hand, Marko Arapovic scored 12 points for the losing squad.
In the beginning, the match was close (14-13), however, Laboral Kutxa quickly took control of the game and ended the first quarter in an 8-3 run (23-16). Later, Cedevita tried to remain competitive (27-24), but the hosts exploded, played very well on both ends of the floor and made a 18-5 run to close the first half in front by 16 (45-29).
In the second half, the Croatians made an effort to come back, however, the Spaniards comfortably retained their lead to double digits (65-53, 67-57), after 30 minutes in the game. In the last quarter, things didn’t change much, as Cedevita continued to play mediocre, whereas Velimir Perasovic‘s team executed perfectly on both ends of the floor, outscored their opponents 25-13 and easily won the game (92-70).
