Moving on from Dimitris Itoudis following the recent loss to Anadolu Efes, Fenerbahce Beko targets Andrea Trinchieri as the next head coach.

Trinchieri, 55, is negotiating a contract until the end of the 2023-24 season with an option to extend until the end of the 2025-26 season, according to Eurohoops sources.

Itoudis, 53, will be dismissed, as confirmed by Eurohoops. His successor will not be Sarunas Jasikevicius with the Lithuanian tactician out of the picture for Fener after saying no to the offer made to him.

Concluding a three-year stint with FC Bayern Munich at the end of the 2022-23 season, Trinchieri is a candidate to add to his experience in Europe’s premier club continental competition. Sitting in as the head coach in 211 EuroLeague games across spells with Bayern, Brose Bamberg, and Bennet / Mapooro Cantu, he shaped a 92-119 W-L record. The most recent gig sent the Munich outfit to the EuroLeague Playoffs for the first time in team history in 2021 and additionally featured a back-to-back berth in 2022.

Jasikevicius, 47, parted ways with FC Barcelona in July. Similar to Trinchieri, he has been left out of coaching adjustments through the 2023-24 edition of EuroLeague’s Regular Season. The list of changes includes Dusko Ivanovic moving from Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet to Baskonia, Giannis Sfairopoulos being named play-caller of the Belgrade outfit, and LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne replacing T.J. Parker with Gianmarco Pozzecco, besides Luca Banchi taking over from Sergio Scariolo at Virtus Segafredo Bologna before the tipoff of the new season.
