Scottie Wilbekin scored a season-high 30 points as Fenerbahce Beko beat Bayern Munich in overtime to register its third straight EuroLeague win and seventh over the eight games since Sarunas Jasikevicius assumed the head coach post.

“It was a tough game. I almost won us the game and I almost lost us the game in the last seconds,” Wilbekin said. Τhese 30 points also mark his highest-scoring performance as a Fener player. “I don’t know if it was about details or just fighting through. Nick told me ‘Are you going to get 30?’.”

Wilbekin could’ve also hit the game-winner when he made it 81 – 78 with 10 seconds remaining in regulation. Sylvain Francisco then read Wilbekin’s defense on him and pulled for a 3-point attempt from afar winning the foul for three free throws that sent the game to the extra period.

In overtime, Fener got an early 86 – 81 advantage and never looked back. Dyshawn Pierre had four straight points to make it 92 – 84 with 42 seconds left to play to pretty much secure Fener‘s victory and cap his strong display of 15 points plus 10 rebounds.

“I’ve still scored zero points since I’ve arrived here,” said Fenerbahce coach Sarunas Jasikevicius when asked about the team’s record since he took over. “The guys are really fighting. It’s very important to win these type of games. They are a little bit ugly. We weren’t at our best today. Some focus, ups and downs. We expected a difficult game, we got it and I’m very happy we came out on top.”

Francisco posted 21 points and five assists for Bayern while Andreas Obst scored 15.

“I feel sad for my players because honestly they did great job,” Bayern Munich coach Pablo Laso said. His team is now  “But it wasn’t enough to win. They When you’re talking about a game that finishes in overtime, maybe one-two possessions make a difference. We didn’t execute well and they did. We missed a little bit consistency but my players made great effort tonight.”
