It’s undeniable that since the return of both Serbian teams to the EuroLeague, the number of fans sitting in the stands of European arenas has increased more and more. Now, it was announced that Partizan Belgrade and Crvena Zvezda are the first two teams with the highest average attendance.

The black-and-white club stands first with an average of 19.801 fans, while Crvena Zvezda follows with 18.888 seats occupied per game; other powerhouses like Zalgiris Kaunas (14.935), Panathinaikos (14.914), Anadolu Efes Istanbul (12.079), Olympiacos (11.323), and Fenerbahce (10.146) follow.

As officially announced by the Euroleague in a press release, “this season alone has seen a 17.4% jump in attendances through the first 17 rounds, with a record-best average crowd of 10.296 fans at each EuroLeague game”. Making a comparison with 2022-23, it’s “a rise of 1.525 spectators per game”.

Moreover, “six teams are averaging at least 90% capacity in their arenas, too: Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade (99%), Zalgiris Kaunas (97%), Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade (95%), FC Bayern Munich (95%), Olympiacos Piraeus (93%), and LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne (92%)”.

Two teams are improving number-wise from last season: Crvena Zvezda (+11.678 fans on average) and Panathinaikos (+6.395 fans on average), which are beneficiating respectively from moving to Stark Arena and from seeing new investments on the green-and-white project with Ergin Ataman on board.
