In an extensive interview with Meridian Sport, Crvena Zvezda‘s club director Nemanja Vasiljevic touched on several topics regarding the red-and-white Serbian powerhouse, considering the status of Milos Teodosic and the opportunity of having brought Zach LeDay to the other side of Belgrade.
Talking about such a possibility, he was pretty clear about it. “Zach [LeDay] was offered to us with two other players from the same agency. I received a message from the agent about his expiring contract, the player being free, and the opportunity to talk about a possible cooperation”, Crvena Zvezda‘s own said.
According to Nemanja Vasiljevic, nobody wanted to play an unfair game. “There is a farce that we wanted to kidnap someone, but that is not the case. In the end, we did not come out with a financial offer. They said the terms, but we didn’t make an offer. Of course, we don’t know if the player would accept the offer, but there were talks because he was on the market”, he added.
Alongside other topics, he talked about Milos Teodosic, who recently won his first trophy with Crvena Zvezda. “[Milos Teodosic] made a great sacrifice this year. I’m not sure how many players, if they were in his situation, would try to play at all, and not play with maximum sacrifice and be great. I don’t even think he has performed with this much energy for the national team. I am especially glad that he will probably end his career at Crvena Zvezda”, he said about the 36-year-old magician.
Touching on the former Virtus Bologna’s playmaker’s future, he mentioned ongoing conversations about next year as well. “He has a contract until the end of the season. Since we signed for this season, we have been talking about the next one as well. Whatever he decides, we will respect it”, Nemanja Vasiljevic added about Milos Teodosic. “Maybe he will surprise you”, he answered when asked about the Serbian guard retiring if he wins the ABA League.
