Sorkin got injured playing for Israeli national team

By Eurohoops team / info@eurohoops.net

Maccabi Tel Aviv center Roman Sorkin sustained an injury while playing for the Israeli national team against Portugal in the 2025 EuroBasket Qualifiers.

The Israeli club announced that he underwent an MRI, revealing a strain in the lateral collateral ligament in the knee. The expected duration of absence is about four weeks.

Sorkin has been averaging 7.5 points and 3.6 rebounds this season, playing nearly 18 minutes for Oded Kattash’s team in the EuroLeague.

This injury comes at a crucial point in the EuroLeague, which resumes next Thursday. Sorkin is set to miss five of his team’s games, with only eight remaining in the EuroLeague regular season.

Maccabi is currently in 10th place with a 13-13 record, actively vying for a spot in the Play-In tournament.
